The men's golf team finished in bronze medal position over the weekend at the Evangel Spring Invitational. In what the team hopes is foreshadowing of the conference championship, the Lions finished first among the seven HAAC schools at the competition.
The Lions shot were in third place after shooting a 306 during the first round. In round two, the conditions were tougher but Lindenwood remained in third with a 318. Lindenwood finished 20 shots behind champion Millikin and seven shots back of runner-up McKendree. The Lions were nine shots ahead of the next closest HAAC school in Evangel.
Richard Docherty was tied for the individual lead after shooting an even 72 during round one. He was second at the conclusion of the tournament after a 78 during the second round.
Morgan Leigh tied for 11th overall with a 154 and
Alex Hauser was tied for 18th with a 159.
Lourens Kleynhaus shot a 161 and tied for 26th, while
Paul Colditz was tied for 36th with a 165.
Lindenwood is in action again this week at the North Alabama Spring Classic.
