The Lindenwood gymnastics team put up one of its top performances in program history on Saturday in Denton, Texas in the team finals of the 2018 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships. That result fell shy of a national title, however, as the Lady Lions finished second behind the host school, Texas Woman's.

Lindenwood was chasing Texas Women's the entire evening as the Lady Lions scored in the high 48s in three of the four events, while Texas Woman's hit the 49-point mark in every rotation. Lindenwood finished with a mark of 195.800, tying its third-best record in program history. Texas Woman's won its second straight title with a 196.525. Air Force was close behind Lindenwood with a score of 195.675, and Cornell came in fourth with a mark of 193.650.

Kierstin Sokolowski led Lindenwood with scores of 9.875 on the vault, 9.850 on the bars, and 9.850 on the beam. She was the runner-up on the vault and beam, and third on the bars. A trio of Lady Lions led the team on the floor with scores of 9.825. They were

Kyndall Baze, and
Kayla McMullan.

Other top performances was
Andavea Alexander scoring a 9.750 or higher in three events, including a 9.800 on the bars.
Breanna Franklin had two 9.800 marks on the vault and beam. Baze also had a 9.800 on the vault.

The 2018 USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships concludes on Sunday with the individual finals.
