The Lindenwood shooting team won the 2004 ACUI Intercollegiate Clay Target National Championship. The victory was the first national title and started a dynasty for the Lions shooting program.
Lindenwood finished the event by hitting 1,377 out of 1,450 targets and won the tournament by 57 targets. As a team, Lindenwood swept every competition at nationals. Nivia Jones was the National Lady Champions and Gebben Miles finished third in the individual overall race. Brad Deauman won the International Skeet and Five-Stand events, and William Gowin was first in the International Trap competition.
Joe Steenbergen was the head coach of the 2004 Lindenwood shooting team.
