Vahle came to Lindenwood in the fall of 2004 as an Associate Professor of Management in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship. From 2006-2017, and again in 2019, Vahle served as the head coach of the men's and women's tennis programs. In 2019, Vahle came out of retirement to help lead the tennis programs during a coaching transition. During his 13 seasons as head coach, Vahle won a combined 231 duals between both programs and three conference championships. Vahle was named as the NAIA Regional Women's Coach of the Year for the 2006-07 season. Off the court, Vahle led the program to 73 academic honor roll awards, nine MIAA Scholar-Athlete awards, seven MIAA Academic Excellence honors, and two CoSIDA Academic All-District honors.
