Itzel Nieto was a four-time All-American golfer from 2000-03, just the second golfer in NAIA history to achieve that accomplishment, and she won the individual title at the 2002 NAIA Championship. The Lady Lions won the Heart of America Athletic Conference title all four seasons that she was a member of the team, and she led Lindenwood to its best showings at nationals, finishing third in 2001 and 2002. Nieto captured her national title by shooting par on the final three holes of the tournament to tie for first with a four-round score of 322. In the first playoff hole, Nieto was one shot better than her opponent which gave her the national title. Other national appearances included her finishing tied for 10th in 2000, 14th in 2001 and 10th in 2003.
