John Creer, Lindenwood’s current athletics director, was the head coach of the cross country and track and field programs from 1995-2003. Creer led the men’s track and field teams to two national championships in 1998 (indoor) and 2003 (outdoor). His men and women squads also won 28 HAAC titles. Creer, who previously coached at Wayland Baptist and Missouri Baptist, won a total of nine national championships during his coaching career, and he is a member of the NAIA Hall of Fame.
