Sean Birren was a star distance runner on the track and field teams from 1998-2002. He earned six All-American awards, including winning the 1998 and 2001 NAIA Marathon Championship. Birren also won numerous HAAC titles, and was named meet MVP at the 2000 outdoor and 2001 indoor conference events. He was a member of the 1998 indoor track and field team which won the first national championship title at Lindenwood.
