Women's Volleyball Perfect at Invitational

The No. 20 Lindenwood volleyball team capped a stellar weekend at the Lindenwood Invitational with a 3-0 sweep of Trinity International (Ill.). The Lions, who dropped just one game all weekend, have now won seven straight matches heading into their pivotal conference matchup with Baker this Tuesday. 

Lindenwood raced out to 14-5 lead in game one against Trinity International and never looked back, winning by margins of 25-19, 25-21, 25-21. Ellen Fandry notched her second double-double of the tournament, recording 13 kills and 12 digs. Victoria Krause had 12 kills and Krista Yoder added 10. Alyssa Showers tallied 22 digs and Patricia Erb had 14. Kelsey Biggs netted 35 assists and two service aces for the victors. Yoder had five blocks up front and Krause totaled four. 

Lindenwood swept Lindsey Wilson by scores of 25-20, 25-5, 25-23. Yoder led the Lions with 11 kills and Fandry finished with eight. Showers had 20 digs from her libero position, while Biggs and Erb each had 11. Biggs led the team in assists with 31 as well as converting three service aces. Yoder blocked five shots for the host team and Krause totaled four.

On Friday, the Lions defeated the University of St. Francis (Ill.) in four games by scores of 25-22, 26-24, 16-25, 27-25. Fandry paced the Lions with a double-double, totaling 17 kills, 10 digs and three service aces. Kelsey Kennedy had 11 kills and Yoder added 10. Biggs tallied 36 assists and netted two service aces. Erb recorded 22 digs and Showers had 18. Up front, Kelsey Jo Vogler totaled six blocks, Krause had five and Yoder finished with four.

Lindenwood swept Campbellsville University (Ky.) by scores of 25-23, 25-23, 25-22. The first two games ended on service errors by the Tigers. In all, Campbellsville committed 10 service errors. Fandry, Krause, Vogler, and Yoder each had seven kills to balance the Lions' attack. Showers led the team with 18 digs and Erb had 12. Biggs recorded 27 assists and Vogler had four blocks. Three others had three blocks apiece.

Lindenwood (19-6, 4-0) will travel to Baker this Tuesday for a match scheduled at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are 4-0 in the conference this year.
