The Lindenwood Lady Lions' soccer team traveled to Batesville, Arkansas for a non-conference game against Lyon College. After the Lady Lions tied the game in the second half the Lyon Pipers netted the game-winner late and were victorious, 3-2.
Lyon got the scoring going in the 15th minute when Anja Klotzle scored to give the Pipers the early, 1-0 lead. Sixteen minutes later the Lady Lions would even the game when
Lindsay Shea scored her team leading ninth goal of the year.
The game would move to the half with the teams tied at one. But only 12 minutes into the final half the Pipers regained the lead with a goal from Katie Marshall. After the Pipers goal the Lady Lions answered right back in the 70th minute when
Ashley Tankersley scored to tie the game. The tie did not last long though, in the 77th minute the Pipers would take the lead on Klotzle's second goal of the game and that would be all they needed.
With the non-conference loss the Lady Lions dropped their record to 5-6-1. This weekend Lindenwood will get back to conference play with a game against nationally ranked Baker University on Saturday night at 5:00 p.m.
