Lady Lions Fall on the Road to Graceland

The Lindenwood Lady Lion soccer team traveled to Lamoni, Iowa to take on the Graceland Yellowjackets and after a closely played first half the Lady Lions succumbed to the pressure of the Yellowjackets offense and fell, 5-1.

When the first half came to an end the Yellowjackets were only up 1-0 after a goal by Lindsay Conway. It only took the Yellowjackets two minutes to take a 2-0 lead but the Lady Lions cut the lead in half just two minutes later when Lindsay Shea drew a penalty in the box and then scored on the penalty kick to make the score 2-1.

After the Lady Lions cut the lead to one, it was all Yellowjackets. Graceland forward Chelsea Phillips scored three unanswered goals to help the Yellowjackets beat the Lady Lions, 5-1.

With the loss the Lady Lions dropped their overall record to 6-8-1 and HAAC record to 3-4-1. The Lady Lions have one more regular season HAAC game left on Tuesday against Missouri Valley in Marshall, Mo.
