Lady Lions Soccer Falls to No. 6 Graceland

The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team fell behind early to No. 6 Graceland Yellowjackets on Saturday night and just couldn't dig themselves out of the early hole falling 4-1.

It didn't take the Yellowjackets long to get on the scoreboard as they would score just eight minutes into the game. Chelsea Phillips would score her first of two goals on the night to give the visitors the 1-0 lead. Almost exactly 20 minutes later Gisela Arrieta would score to give Graceland the 2-0 lead heading into the half.

The second half was much like the first. Graceland's offense would keep the pressure on the Lady Lions defense and notch two goals. With Lindenwood trailing 4-0, the home team would avoid the shutout when Kendall Kravec would score her third goal of the year with just 15 seconds to play in the game.

Even though the final score doesn't indicate it, the Lady Lions played very well with the highly-ranked Yellow jackets. Both teams compiled 15 shots and Lindenwood took six shots on goal.

With the loss the Lady Lions drop to 6-10-1 overall and 3-4-1 in HAAC play. Up next for Lindenwood is a home contest against Missouri Valley on Tuesday night at Harlen C. Hunter.
