Lindenwood Swimming and Diving Compete at the Show-Me Showdown

The Lindenwood men's and women's swimming teams kicked off their season this past weekend at the Show-Me-Showdown in Columbia, Mo. The men would finish in third place while the Lady Lions placed fifth.

Javier Hernandez led the way for the men swimming to a second place finish in the 100 yard butterfly and a fourth place in the 50 yard butterfly. The Lions also had five third place finishes led Ramunas Paknys who finished third in the 100 yard backstroke and the 50 yard backstroke. The other third place finishes were Victor Munoz in the 100 yard freestyle, Uba Zavaleta in the 500 yard freestyle, and Reinis Rozenstein in the 50 yard backstroke.

Three men's relay teams also had high finishes led by the 200 yard medley and 400 yard freestyle teams which finished third. The 200 yard freestyle also had a good finish with a fourth place spot.

The Lady Lions were led by Kay Rosenhauer who placed fifth in the 500 yard freestyle. Stephanie Heutel and Tiffany Oskvarek finished 12th and 21st respectively in the 50 yard backstroke.

Up next for the swimming program is the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Relays in Terre Haute, Ind. on October 23rd.
