Women's Volleyball Advances to the NAIA National Championship Tournament

The No. 20 Lindenwood women's volleyball team advanced to the NAIA National Championship Tournament with a 25-21, 29-27, 25-19 sweep of Freed-Hardeman Saturday afternoon at the Hyland Arena. 

Ellen Fandry led the Lady Lions with a double-double of 12 kills and 13 digs, both team highs. Krista Yoder also finished in double-digits in kills with 11. Kristy Dreisewerd, Katie Weber, and Erin Anselman each had nine putaways apiece. 

Kelsey Biggs tallied 27 assists, and Alexandria Malam added 17. Biggs also had a team-high three aces.

Defensively, Alyssa Showers posted nine digs and Biggs had eight. Weber and Megan Dillon had three blocks each.

The Lady Lions hit .347 as a team compared to .224 for Freed-Hardeman.

Lindenwood (34-12) advance to the national tournament for the third time in school history, and the third time in the last four years. 

Pairings for pool play will be announced Sunday evening. The NAIA National Championship Tournament is held in Souix City, Iowa from Nov. 30 - Dec. 4.
