Two Lindenwood Lion baseball players were named HAAC Players of the Week. Pitcher Evan Vinyard was named HAAC Pitcher of the Week and Shelby Anderson was named HAAC Hitter of the Week.
Vinyard, a junior from Fenton, Mo., is the leader of the Lions' pitching staff and was rewarded for just one of many stellar weeks he has had this season. During play last week Vinyard was 1-0, winning his team leading ninth game of the year and also struck out 15 hitters in 8 2/3 innings. During the span he allowed just seven hits and three runs.
Anderson, who leads the Lions in almost every offensive category, once again helped power the Lion offense. Last week in four games he hit .375 (6-for-16) drove in four runs, scored four runs and hit his team leading 11th home run of the season.
This week the Lindenwood baseball team is in St. Joseph, Mo. for the HAAC Conference Tournament.
