The Lindenwood women's volleyball team went 2-0 during day one of the Sioux Falls Halloween Classic. The Lady Lions needed a fifth set to defeat Grand View in the opening match, and they knocked off Dakota State in three sets.
Lindenwood defeated Grand View by scores of 21-25, 21-25, 25-22, 25-13, and 15-8.
Katie Weber led the team with 16 kills, and she hit .484 in the match.
Kristy Dreisewerd and
Ellen Fandry each had 13 kills. Other team leaders were
Emma Brydels with 25 assists,
Kaila Schrimpf with 26 digs, and Kelsey Jo Vogel with six blocks.
The Lady Lions defeated Dakota State by scores of 25-23, 25-21, and 25-22. Weber led the team in kills again with 10.
Kelsey Biggs had 21 assists, Schrimpf had 16 digs, and Weber had four blocks.
Lindenwood continues play on Saturday with matches versus Valley City State and Sioux Falls.
