The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams competed in the Delta State Christmas Invite in Cleveland, Mississippi. The four day event concluded on Tuesday.
The women's team finished in first place out of five teams with 2,104 total points. The men's team finished in second place out of six teams with 1,943 total points.
The Lions put together nine first place finishes in team relay events.
In addition to being a part of multiple winning relay teams,
Simone de Rijcke picked up first place honors in the 1000-yd, 500-yd, 200-yd, and 100-yd freestyle events. Simone earned herself an invite to the NCAA Nationals, putting up an NCAA Qualification time in the 200-yd freestyle on day three of the event. She also set a new school record with her qualifying time. Simone also won the female swimmer of the meet.
Ashley Holloway picked up a first place finish in the 3-mtr dive, scoring 32 points. Holloway also won female diver of the meet.
For the men, Matheus Isidro picked up first place honors in the 500-yd freestyle, 100-yd butterfly, and 200-yd butterfly. Isidro won the male swimmer of the meet.
Cristian Vasquez finished in first place in the 400-yd IM and
Grant Williams picked up a second place finish in the 1-mtr dive finals with 28 points.

Also, both men's and women's 200-yd freestyle relay teams achieved NCAA B qualification times.
Plus, both men's and women's 400-yd medley relay teams achieved NCAA B qualification cuts, meaning both teams will swim in this event at nationals.
Lindenwood will be back in action on January 19th as they travel to McKendree University to take on the Bearcats.
