The Lindenwood women's hockey team placed 18 players on the CHA all-academic team for their outstanding work in the classroom. Additionally, four players were named CHA Student-Athletes of the Year, including
Kirsten Martin who earned the honor all four years during her career with the Lions.
Along with Martin,
Annika Asplundh,
Jada Burke, and
Sierra Burt earned Student-Athlete of the Year recognition by earning a 4.0 GPA during the entirety to the 2019-20 season. Martin played in 29 games this past year, and compiled six points with one goal. The Rosedale, British Columbia native was the only CHA player this year to earn the award for the fourth-straight season.
Asplundh earned the award for the second-straight season, as she registered a .922 save percentage and a 2.79 goals against average in her 27 games played in net. The New Hope, Pa. native earned CHA Goalie of the Week two times during the year, including her second time when she posted back-to-back shutouts against RIT.
Burke tied for third on the team with her eight points, as she tallied four goals and four assists on the season. The two-time Student-Athlete of the Year scored the game winner against RIT to secure a 2-0 shutout in January. Burt led the team in all three major statistical categories, as she scored six goals and dished out 11 assists for 17 points. Burt has earned the award for the third time in her career, and was named CHA Player of the Week after she tallied four points in the two-game series against RIT.
