Laurie Kaminski is entering her 13th season as the head coach of the Lindenwood Lady Lions women’s soccer program. During her career at Lindenwood she has compiled a record of 107-93-23.
In 2016, Lindenwood recorded the most wins in its NCAA era with 10 victories. The Lady Lions also recorded one of its biggest wins in that span with a 1-0 win over Northeastern State in the MIAA Tournament, which placed the Lady Lions in the conference semifinals for the first time. Kaminski won her 100th career game with a 4-3 victory early in the season against Missouri S&T.
Kat Roe made program history by being named a first-team all-region selection. She also earned first-team All-MIAA honors, one of four players that were named all-conference. Thirteen players were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll,
The 2015 season saw a young Lady Lions team have a strong finish to the season, going 4-2-1 down the stretch and just missing the MIAA Tournament. Four players earned All-MIAA honors, including a third-team selection for Danielle Torry. Eighteen players were named to the MIAA Honor Roll, one was a MIAA Scholar-Athlete, and one earned the MIAA Excellence Award.
In 2014, Lindenwood earned another berth in the MIAA Tournament after finishing the conference season with a .500 mark for the second straight year. The Lady Lions were fifth overall out of 12 teams, and they ended the year with a 7-9-3 overall record.
Five Lady Lions were honored on one of the All-MIAA teams, including third-team selection Molly White. Off the field, 12 Lady Lions were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, and two were named MIAA Scholar-Athletes.
Lindenwood was the most improved team in the MIAA in 2013. The Lady Lions went 5-5-1 in conference action and advanced to the MIAA Tournament in their first season of eligibility. Lindenwood finished with an overall record of 8-10-1. Six Lady Lions were named to one of the all-conference teams, led by second-team honors for Taylor Buehne and Roe. A total of 17 players were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, three were MIAA Scholar-Athletes, and one received the MIAA Academic Excellence Award.
Kaminski and Lindenwood played their first full NCAA Division II and MIAA schedule in 2012. The Lady Lions went 4-1-0 in non-conference play and had a winning record at Hunter Stadium. Bailey Cody earned honorable mention All-MIAA honors. Two women’s soccer players received the MIAA Academic Excellence Award, one was a MIAA Scholar-Athlete, and 19 were on the MIAA Academic Honor Roll.
In 2011, the Lady Lions competed in their first season outside the NAIA. Lindenwood compiled a record of 8-6-3 with a home record of 3-2-1. The team started the season winning its first four games but then ran into very stiff Division II competition late in the season. The Lady Lions defense was one of the best in the country, only giving up 1.12 goals a game. Bailey Cody was named to the first team All-ICAA after the season.
In 2010, Lindenwood recorded a record of 7-11-1 and, for the second consecutive season, had a 4-4-1 conference record. After the season, three Lady Lions were named to All-HAAC squads.
In 2009, the Lady Lions compiled a record of 9-9-1 and had a conference mark of 4-4-1. The team performed well at home with a record of 6-2-0. Four Lady Lions received postseason honors; one was named to the second team All-HAAC and three to the third team.
In 2008, the Lady Lions finished the season with a record of 12-4-3, the second most wins in a year since Kaminski took over as head coach. Lindenwood went 6-1-2 in conference play and was runner-up during both the regular season and tournament. The Lady Lions placed six players on the HAAC All-Conference teams and two were named NAIA Scholar Athletes.
In 2006 and 2007 the Lions compiled an overall record of 19-13-4 and made a regional tournament appearance in 2006.
In her first season as head coach in 2005, the Lady Lions finished with a 17-3-1 record, including a stretch of 14 undefeated games. The Lady Lions managed to knock off a number of nationally ranked teams while posting their best record since the 2003 season. The 2005 season also saw them reach their first regional tournament under Kaminski’s watch. The Lady Lions captured the title of the Labor Day Tournament hosted by Cardinal Stritch.
Prior to the 2005 season, Kaminski was an assistant coach at Lindenwood under head coach Thom Champion. As an assistant, she played a significant role in helping guide Lindenwood to the 2003 NAIA National Tournament.
Before coming to Lindenwood, Kaminski played four years of college soccer at Saint Louis University. Kaminski, a native of St. Louis and a Mehlville High School grad, is a current member of the Scrubs Soccer Club. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications with a minor in Marketing from Saint Louis in 2003. In 2004, she earned a master’s degree in Sport Management from Lindenwood.
