Our Mission
Lindenwood University Athletics is dedicated and obligated to the principle of institutional control in operating its athletics program in a manner that aligns and is consistent with NCAA, OVC, and university rules and regulations.
This obligation to abide by these rules and regulations is both institutional and individual. As a university, Lindenwood’s athletics programs are responsible for: educating coaches, student-athletes, staff, and other athletics interests; to have operating systems in place to provide regulation to stay within permissible means; and for reporting any violations that may occur. It is an individual’s responsibility to have working knowledge of NCAA bylaws, act within these regulations, and report any violations.
Our Values
- Integrity – honesty; doing what is right regardless of internal or external factors.
- Problem Solving – using innovation, thinking critically and creatively to find a solution to an issue.
- Communication – exchanging information to ensure transparency, consistency, and understanding.
- Respect – valuing the difference, viewpoints, and opinions of others.
- Teamwork – collaboration towards a common goal.
About Us
Lindenwood University is a volunteer member of the NCAA and the Ohio Valley Conference. There are explicit rules and regulations voted on by the membership that govern the actions of our coaches, prospective student-athletes, student-athletes, staff members, athletic representatives (i.e., boosters), and groups that support our 21 sports and 500+ student-athletes. The NCAA has charged each institution with the governance and enforcement of these rules and regulations on campus. By ensuring institutional control over the Department, the Athletic Compliance Office directly contributes to the successes of our programs.
With that, your adherence to all applicable NCAA rules and regulations is essential to maintaining Lindenwood’s storied tradition of excellence both on and off the field. This site was designed to provide you with key information regarding the NCAA rules and regulations. Most importantly, be mindful of your interactions with prospective and current Lindenwood student-athletes and their family and friends. If you have any questions or concerns regarding NCAA rules and regulations, please contact the Athletic Compliance Office. We encourage everyone to ask before they act!
