It only took the Lindenwood Lions men's soccer team five minutes to get on the scoreboard against William Jewell but the Cardinals would score the next two goals including the game-winner in overtime to beat the Lions, 2-1.
Victor Buchim scored just five minutes into the game to give the Lions the lead. After a first half that saw the Lions outshoot the Cardinals 5-3, Jewell would tie the game in the 79th minute to tie the game. Only three minutes into the extra frame, Brett Lewis scored the game-winning goal to give the Cardinals the conference win.
With the loss the Lions dropped their record to 5-6-1 and 3-1 in HAAC play. Next up for the Lions is a road game against Missouri Baptist on Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
