Denodus O'Bryant scored the first three Lindenwood touchdowns to lead the No. 3 Lions to their third-highest point total in school history and a 67-10 victory over Culver-Stockton.
After a pair of turnovers, O'Bryant scored the first touchdown of the game on a one-yard run which completed a nine-play, 53-yard drive by Lindenwood. Culver-Stockton answered with a field goal, but O'Bryant took the kickoff 75 yards for his third kickoff return touchdown of the season. After trading punts in the next three possessions, O'Bryant scored one more time on a 34-yard run to put Lindenwood up 20-3.
That final touchdown by O'Bryant was the first of five straight series in which the Lions put the ball into the endzone and built a 47-10 lead after three quarters. The Lions' backups then added three more touchdowns in the fourth for the final margin.
Lindenwood finished with 585 total yards of offense, the fourth-most in the record books, with 262 on the ground and 323 through the air. Defensively, the Lions allowed just 212 total yards, with 107 rushing and 105 passing. After a sluggish first-half, Lindenwood's defense reestablished itself in the second-half by allowing no points and just 63 yards.
O'Bryant finished the game with 69 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns on just six carriers. He also caught an 18-yard pass to go along with his kickoff return touchdown.
Andrew Helmick rushed for 64 yards, almost all of it coming on a 63-yard touchdown run.
LeMarien Parson had the final rushing touchdown.
Philip Staback threw for 265 yards and four touchdowns. He completed 17-of-22 passes on the day.
Matt Bramow caught six passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
Marcel Thompson also had two receiving touchdowns and 63 receiving yards.
Rudy Fleming caught four passes for 53 yards.
The final Lindenwood touchdown was another special team's score, with
Damian James having a 79-yard punt return touchdown.
Defensively, the Lions had 11 tackles from
Chris Howard, including 1.5 for losses.
Joseph Hanks had two sacks and a fumble recovery, and
Josh Gossard had an interception, the first throw by Culver-Stockton this year, and three pass breakups.
