Three first half goals is all the Lindenwood Lions soccer team needed on Tuesday night as they defeated Culver-Stockton College in a conference game, 3-0.
It only took the Lions fifty seconds to score the game's first goal when
Victor Buchim finished off a perfect cross from
John Murphy to give the Lions the lead, a lead they would never relinquish. In the 13th minute the Lions would tally their second goal when
Davor Krasic scored with help from
Victor Alvardo and
Mauricio Medina. The final goal of the game came just four minutes later when
Hannes Backstrom scored his third goal of the year.
Lions' goalie
Victor Francoz made two saves to record his third shutout of the year and his second straight. He has not given up a goal in over 182 minutes. On the night the Lions outshot Culver 19-4 and Wildcat goalie Chris Efthim, who replaced starter Joey Sausto, stopped all 13 shots that he saw.
With the win the Lions record moves to 5-5-1 and 3-0 in HAAC play. Up next for the Lions is a trip to William Jewell for another HAAC battle.
