Storyline
The Lady Lions will try to get into the win column for the first time this year when they host No. 13 Columbia College and travel to NCAA Division II, University of Missouri-St. Louis.
Senior point guard
Cassie Williams will look to continue her hot start after averaging 18.5 points in the Lady Lions first two games against Olivet Nazarene and Lyon College.
The Lady Lions continue their tough non-conference schedule facing the nationally ranked Lady Cougars and the NCAA Tritons.
The Columbia College Lady Cougars come to the Hyland Performance Arena for the fist time since the 2006-2007 season when they beat the Lady Lions 68-67 in overtime. This will be the first time the Lady Lions have played the Tritons since the 1998-1999 season when the Lady Lions were victorious 73-69.
What Happened Last Week
Last week the Lady Lions began their season with a home game against Olivet Nazarene. Both teams played at a frantic pace scoring a total of 206 total points. The Lady Tigers got the best of the Lady Lions with a 112-94 win.
Cassie Williams led Lindenwood with her career high in points with 26 and also added her career high in rebounds with 10. The Lady Tigers were just too much for the Lady Lions connecting on 10 three pointers compared to Lindenwood's two.
In the second game of the week for the Lady Lions, they went on the road for their first road test. The Lady Pipers out-scored Lindenwood in the first half 37-18 and the deficit it was just too big for the Lady Lions to overcome.
Destini Wilson led the Lady Lions in scoring with 15 and Williams added another night of double-digit scoring with 11. Both teams combined for 61 turnovers on the night.
Stifling Defense
In the Lady Lions first two games against Olivet Nazarene and Lyon, they have forced an average of 31.5 turnovers a game and recorded 29 steals for an average of 14.5 a game.
Young Lady Lions
The Lady Lion freshman have stepped up in the young season to play a big role. The six freshman have four starts and are averaging over 5.5 points a game and three rebounds a contest.
Williams Leading The Way
Senior
Cassie Williams is leading the Lady Lions in scoring with an average of 18.5 points a game. The senior from Wright City, Mo. is also leading the team in scoring, rebounds, field goals made and assists per game.
Against Olivet Nazarene, she scored her career-high in points with 26 and grabbed a career-high in rebounds with 10. The double-double was her and the team's first of the year.
Lots Of Scoring
Against Olivet Nazarene the 94 points the Lady Lions scored were the most points they have tallied since 2007-2008 against the same Olivet Nazarene. In that game the Lady Lions scored 101 in a loss. The total of 206 combined points between the teams are also the most since the game in 2007-2008 against Olivet.
Second Half Success
In the second half this year the Lady Lions are averaging 43.5 points. In the second half of the Olivet Nazarene game the Lady Lion's tied the Lady Tigers with 56 point and against Lyon, the Pipers only scored one more point than Lindenwood.
Three Point Defense
Lindenwood is holding its opponents to just 23 percent shooting from behind the three-point line.
Block Party
The Lady Lions rank 16th in the country in blocks per game with four. Five different players have recorded at least one block and freshman
Kaci Weston leads the Lady Lions with three blocks already on the young season.
Snapping The Streak
Lindenwood is looking to snap a five game losing streak dating back to the 2008-09 season. The Lady Lions lost their last two regular season games plus the first round of the HAAC tournament.
Getting To The Line
The Lady Lions have been to the free throw line 57 times already in 2009-10.

Destini Wilson are averaging six free throw attempts a game to lead the team.
Team Full Of Thieves
In only two games this year eight Lady Lions have already recorded at least two steals. Lindenwood is averaging 14.5 steals a game which ranks them 19th in the whole country.
Mariah West is leading the Lady Lions with five steals, which is an average 2.5 steals a game.
Good Record Against UMSL
The Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball program has performed well over the years against UMSL. In seven match-ups against the Tritons the Lady Lions have won four times including the last two times.
About The Lady Cougars
Columbia College is coming off a 29-5 season a year ago when they advanced to the second round of the NAIA National Tournament. The Lady Cougars come into the game with a record of 1-1 after a 16 point win over Avila.
The Lady Cougars are led by a trio of seniors. Victoria Smith led the team in scoring and rebounding last year with 18.2 points a game and 9.7 rebounds a game. Rachel Oswald was second on the team with 16.2 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. On the young season this year Oswald is scoring over 12 points a game. The final senior is Whitney Widaman who averaged over 11 points a game a year ago and is on the same pace this year.
Columbia is coach by Mike Davis who is in his ninth season as the head coach of the Lady Cougars. Davis has recorded 204 wins in just eight years and has led Columbia to the NAIA tournament six times. The Lady Cougars have won three conference titles in Davis' tenure and he has also been named the AMC Conference Coach of the Year three times.
About The Tritons
The match up with the Lady Lions will be the Tritons first regular-season game of the year. UMSL is coming off a record of 7-21 record a year ago.
All three of the Tritons' top scorers will return to the court this year. Kristi White led UMSL in scoring a year ago with an average of over 11 points a game. To go along with White is Kelly Mitchell who averaged 10 points a game and Caitlyn Moody who pitched in over nine points a game. The trio led the Tritons in scoring in 21-of-28 games last year.
Lisa Curliss-Taylor enters her third season as the head coach of the University of Missouri-St. Louis women's basketball program and is the 10th coach in program history. In two seasons of rebuilding the program, Curliss-Taylor is 14-41. She is 71-89 in six seasons as a head coach. Curliss-Taylor came to UMSL from East Texas Baptist, where she spent the four years serving as the head coach. During that time, she compiled a 57-48 record, including a 40-14 mark in her final two seasons at ETBU.
