The Lindenwood women's basketball team saw its two game winning streak come to end Saturday evening, losing to Baker 74-52 on the road.
Trailing 31-23 at the break, the Lions could not slow down Baker's one-two punch of Emily Gibson and Aubree Gustin in the second half. Gibson had a game-high 27 points and 17 rebounds. Gustin also netted a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. Overall, the Wildcats outscored Lindenwood 44-26 in the paint and held the edge in rebounding 48-32.
Baker connected on 45 percent of its attempts from the field compared to 34 percent for Lindenwood and both teams hit 20 percent of their three-pointers. Lindenwood turned the ball over 17 times and shot just eight-of-14 from the charity stripe.
Sade Adams had a team-high 10 points for Lindenwood.
Gina Ferrer finished with eight points and hit two-of-three three-pointers.
Kaylie Jones and Abby Schultenhenrich both tallied seven points apiece. Schultenhenrich also had four assists in defeat.
Lindenwood (2-6, 1-1) will conclude its first half schedule this Thursday at home against Evangel.
