Lady Lions Lose to No. 14 McKendree 3-0

The No. 14 McKendree Bearcats visited Harlen C. Hunter Stadium to face the Lindenwood Lady Lions' soccer team, and after a scoreless first half the Bearcats were able to net three goals in route to 3-0 win.

The Bearcats were the third ranked team in four games that the ladies have faced. After beating SCAD and Trinity Christian the Lions just couldn't get anything going offensively against the Bearcats.

The first half saw both teams play a very defensive game. Lindenwood goalie #Jessica Morelli kept the game tied with three minutes left in the first half with a save of a shot that was destined for the corner.

After halftime the Bearcats came out firing on offense. In the 52nd minute McKendree broke the scoreless tie when Carlee Luehmann scored the game's first goal unassisted. Six minutes later Alex Adams would score the Bearcats second goal and put the Lady Lions back on their heels.

McKendree would add a late goal by Sulyn Keomanivane to put the game away for good. The win improved McKendree to 4-1-1 and the loss dropped the Lady Lions to 3-2. Next up for the Lady Lions is their first HAAC game of the year against Mid American Nazarene on September 26th at Harlen C. Hunter Stadium.
