Lady Lions Can't Find Outside Touch In Loss To Central Methodist

Central Methodist women's basketball team won the outside battle on Thursday and picked up its first HAAC win of the season with a 65-58 victory over the Lady Lions on Thursday.

Lindenwood made 52.7 percent of its two-point field goal attempts and knocked down 14-of-15 free throws. However, it was just two-of-14 from beyond the arc. Central Methodist only shot 35.7 from the field for the game but made up for it by knocking down eight three-pointers.

The two biggest three-pointers came midway through the second half. The game was close throughout until Central Methodist hit back-to-back long range shots to go up 50-39. Lindenwood cut that lead to four twice during the final minutes, but the Eagles hit five free throws in the final 40 seconds for the win.

Lindenwood only had five players score in the game, but four had nine or more points. Christina Edwards hit half of her field goal attempts and eight-of-10 free throws and led the Lady Lions with 18 points. Sade Adams added 15 points, Kelly Albers had 12 and Destini Wilson came off the bench to score nine. Albers and Edwards led the team in rebounding with eight and seven, respectively.
