Grand View snapped the Lindenwood volleyball team's 10-match winning streak early Saturday afternoon, but the Lady Lions bounced back to sweep McKendree and finish 3-1 at the McKendree Invitational in Lebanon, Ill.
Grand View, who lost to Lindenwood earlier this year at the Graceland Invitational, defeated the Lady Lions 25-23, 25-21, 25-27, 25-22.
Krista Yoder collected a team-high 14 kills and
Ellen Fandry finished with a double-double of 11 kills and 15 digs.
Alexandria Malam tallied 26 assists, and
Kelsey Biggs posted her second straight double-double with 20 assists and 13 digs.
Katie Weber converted two aces.
Alyssa Showers logged 25 digs, and
Patricia Erb had 13.
Megan Dillon logged a team-best three blocks.
The Lady Lions responded with their third sweep of the weekend, topping the host Bearcats 25-10, 25-13, 25-15. Yoder led the team in putaways for the second consecutive match with nine, and Fandry totaled seven. Biggs netted 17 assists and Malam added 15. Biggs also converted a team-high four aces and Fandry had three. Lindenwood finished with 12 total aces in the match.
Showers led the defensive effort with 11 digs and Erb chipped in with 10. Yoder posted six blocks and
Victoria Krause added three.
Lindenwood swept both of its matches Friday, earning wins over Iowa Wesleyan and Saint Xavier.
Lindenwood downed Iowa Wesleyan 25-15, 25-20, 25-17 led by
Kristy Dreisewerd's team leading 10 kills. Weber,
Kelsey Kennedy, and
Erin Anselman each had eight putaways. Biggs logged 21 assists and two aces, and Malam tallied 15 helpers.
Showers led the defensive effort with 14 digs, and Dreisewerd and
Kelsey Jo Vogler both had three blocks apiece.
The Lady Lions turned back Saint Xavier 25-22, 25-21, 25-19. Fandry posted 17 kills and 15 digs in the win. Biggs finished with a double-double of 16 assists and 18 digs. The 18 digs were one shy of her career-high and a season-best for her this year. Kennedy chipped in with nine kills and Malam record 22 assists.
Showers finished with 14 digs and Erb had 12. Weber netted six blocks and Vogler had four.
Lindenwood (28-12, 7-2) hosts Missouri Valley on Tuesday in the team's final home match of the season.
