The Lindenwood men's soccer team recorded its third straight shutout and beat No. 20 Missouri Valley 2-0 on Tuesday night.
The game would head into the halftime with both teams unable to breakthrough. Finally in the 76th minute the Lions were able to break the scoreless tie when Victor Alvardo scored his first goal of the season after a great pass from Mark Mirth. It would only take the Lions seven minutes to get an insurance goal. Nenad Curic would beat the Valley goalie and give the Lions all the scoring they needed.
Victor Francoz stopped all seven of the Vikings shots and recorded his ninth shutout of the season. The sophomore from France has not allowed a goal in the past 313 minutes.
With the win the Lions end their regular season portion of the schedule with an overall record of 12-5-1 and a conference mark of 5-3-1. The Lions will now move onto the HAAC postseason tournament where they are the defending champions. The tournament starts next Monday.
