Lady Lions Dominate Harris-Stowe

The Lindenwood Lady Lions basketball team was back on its home court Saturday night and took care of the visiting Harris-Stowe Hornets 81-52.

The Hornets came out shooting the ball well and jumped out to an early 10-7 lead. Lindenwood would tie the score at 10 after a Sarah Schnieders' three-pointer. Both teams would trade the lead back-and-forth until the 6:23 mark when the Lady Lions went on a 22-2 run to close the half and take a 42-29 lead.

Lindenwood came out in the second half and continued to pour in the points, extending the lead all the way to 34 late in the half.  

The Lady Lions dominated the Hornets on the boards outrebounding the visitors 58-36 which included a 28-14 margin on the offensive boards. Kelly Albers led the way for the Lady Lions with 22 points and a career-high 15 rebounds. A pair of freshmen also recorded their first career double-doubles. Cassie Bluemner scored 13 points and 11 rebounds while Shantey Hibbler grabbed 10 rebounds and scored 15 points.

With the win the Lady Lions evened their record at 3-3. They will be on the road next against Hannibal-LaGrange on November 23.
