The No. 1 Lindenwood women's ice hockey team completed a two game sweep of visiting Ohio State Sunday afternoon with a 12-0 victory. Eight different Lady Lions scored in the win, and four found the back of the net twice.
Kyley Engstrom,
Samantha Redick,
Kelsey Talbot, and
Brett Lobreau all had two goals apiece.
Allysson Arcibal,
Erica Wynn,
Miranda Schrock, and
Lisa Moreau also scored for Lindenwood.
Kayla Canning earned the win in goal, and
Kennedy Rupp made her first appearance in net to preserve the shutout.
Shannon Murphy led the Lady Lions with two assists.
Seven different Lady Lions scored as Lindenwood defeated Ohio State 7-0 Saturday evening.
Lindenwood led 2-0 after the first period on goals from Wynn and
Kali Frederick. In the second, the Lady Lions tacked on three more scores to push the lead to 5-0.
Deven Staiger,
Kendra Ganchar, and Lobreau all scored in the frame.
Moreau added a power play tally in the third, and a goal by
Shea Crawford in the closing moments capped a balanced scoring attack for Lindenwood.
Rebecca Bernet earned the shutout victory in goal, and the Lady Lion defense limited the Buckeyes to just five shots on goal. Redick finished with a pair of assists as well.
Lindenwood (15-1-1, 6-1-1) will return to action on Dec. 4th against Western Michigan.
