The No. 8 Lindenwood men's wrestling team faced off against three NCAA Division I teams on Sunday at the Missouri Duals. The Lions lost to No. 11 Missouri, No. 22 Oregon State, and Hofstra.
Versus the host school, the Tigers swept all 10 weight classes in a 41-0 decison. The closest Lindenwood came was at 174 pounds where
Chris Chionuma fell to Patrick Wright by a 2-1 decision. The only points recorded were escapes in the second and third rounds, but Wright won the match by riding time. Missouri also picked up three decisions, three major decisions, one technical fall, and two pins.
Oregon State defeated Lindenwood by a 45-3 score. Chionuma picked up Lindenwood's first win with a 10-5 decision. The Beavers though recorded five falls, three major decisions, and a decision in the other matches.
In the final match against Hofstra, Lindenwood lost 35-12. Both Lions victories came by forfeit at 174 and 184 pounds. Hofstra won all eight matches that were decided on the mat by two decisions, three major decisions, one technical fall, and two pins.
