On Monday night in Kansas City, Missouri, the Lindenwood Lady Lions got career nights from Sade Adams and Abby Schultenhenrich but fell just four points short of an upset bid of the Avila Eagles, 64-60.
To start the game the teams would trade the lead but at the 10 minute mark the home team would go on a 13-0 run over the next eight minutes to extend their lead to 11. The first half would come to a close with the Lady Lions trailing by seven.
Trailing by seven didn't faze the Lady Lions as they exploded out of the locker room on a 13-3 run to take a three point lead. Lindenwood would extend their lead to six with 11:11 to go in the game after a Christina Edward's free throw. 
Both teams would go cold going scoreless for nearly two minutes. With the Eagles leading by three with just over 30 seconds to go Jessica James would connect on a layup to give Avila a five point lead. The Lady Lions would not go down without swinging as Schultenhenrich would connect on her fifth three pointer of the game to cut the lead to two. Avila would connect on some late free throws to finally put the Lady Lions away, 64-60.
Adams and Schultenhenrich both had career-high in points with 18 and 21 respectively. Schultenhenrich connected on 7-of-13 shots and most importantly 5-of-9 from behind the arc. Adams filled up the box score with her 18 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
