The Lindenwood Lady Lion basketball team is fighting for a spot in the HAAC postseason tournament and on Thursday night the team helped their cause with a 62-49 win over the Central Methodist Lady Eagles.
Both teams started off slow as the Lady Lions didn't score their first point until six minutes into the game. The visiting Lady Eagles took a five point lead with just over two minutes to play but the Lady Lions clawed back to tie the game at the half.
The second half was all Lindenwood as they came out and took a quick nine point lead. The lead would go as high as 12 and the Lady Lions would close out the game with a 62-49 win.
Leading the way for Lindenwood was Christina Edwards who compiled a double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Abby Schultenhenrich chipped in with 12 points of her own.
Next up for the Lady Lions will be their final home game of the season Saturday night against MidAmerica Nazarene.
