Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team scored early and often while rolling to a 6-2 win over West Alabama on Thursday afternoon in Livingston, Ala.
It took the Lady Lions just 11 minutes to get on the scoreboard.
Brittney Noble scored her first goal of the season to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. Just five minutes later,
Bailey Cody added to the Lindenwood lead after converting a perfect pass from Emily Winchell.
West Alabama cut into the lead in the 21
st minute, but seven minutes later the Lady Lions answered when
Courtney Bresnahan scored and gave the Lady Lions a two goal lead again. The contest headed into the halftime break with Lindenwood leading 2-1.
The second half was much of the same for the Lady Lions. The team scored its first goal of the half in the 52
nd minute, and then two more times in the next eight minutes. Bresnahan and Cody each netted their second goals of the game and Winchell scored her first.
Jade Davis started in the net and surrendered one goal in 77 minutes of play, and then gave way to
Erin Sage, who also gave up one goal.
The win was the fourth in a row for the Lady Lions and now have an overall record of 8-3-2. Up next for Lindenwood is a home game against Central Missouri Sunday afternoon at Hunter Stadium.
