Women's Volleyball Wins Two Matches on Day Two of LaQuinta Inn & Suites/Arkansas Tech Invitational

The Lindenwood women's volleyball team bounced back on day two of the LaQuinta Inn & Suites/Arkansas Tech Invitational with two victories. The Lady Lions swept Henderson State and Sioux Falls to finish the tournament with a 2-2 record.

The Lady Lions defeated Henderson State by scores of 25-18, 25-23, and 25-15. Lindenwood hit over .300 in the contest and held Henderson State over .100 in two of the three sets.

Kristy Dreisewerd led the team offensively with 13 kills and just one error in 26 attacks. Katie Weber was also in double-figures with 10 kills. Emma Brydels had 43 assists and Kaila Schrimpf led the team with 19 digs.

Lindenwood defeated Sioux Falls in three straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-19, and 25-12. The match started off with a close score of 13-11 in the Lady Lions favor. However, an 8-1 scoring run by Lindenwood would seal the win with a 25-16 victory. Sioux Falls had the lead at 3-2 which was the only time the Cougars led for the entire second set. The Lady Lions would control the rest of the game and go on to win 25-19. The third set was all Lindenwood as they jumped out to a 13-4 lead and did not let up the remainder of the match to win 25-16.

The women's team held the Cougars to a .039 hitting percentage while the Lady Lions recorded 14 total blocks and hit a .234 for the match.

Leading the Lady Lions was Erin Anselman finishing with 11 kills, while Weber tallied 10 kills on 17 attempts. At the net, Weber pressed seven blocks while Kelsey Jo Vogler recorded five. Brydels recorded 30 assists with seven digs, and Anselman had a double-double with 12 digs to go along with her kill total.

Schrimpf was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 4.27 digs a game for the tournament.
