Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team took on an old conference foe, the Missouri Valley Vikings, on Tuesday night in Marshall, Mo. After the Vikings scored an early goal, the Lady Lions answered late in the second half to tie the score. The two teams ended the contest with a 1-1 tie.
It did not take the Vikings long to get on the scoreboard. Just four minutes into the contest, Missouri Valley's Breann Kinworthy scored to give the home team a 1-0 lead. The game headed into halftime with the Vikings leading by the single tally.
As the second-half clock winded down, the Lady Lions finally got the equalizer in the final minute of the game.
Bailey Cody scored her team-leading eighth goal to tie the score.
The contest headed into overtime tied at one. The first overtime ended with no goals scored as did the second overtime. The two times ended the 110 minutes of play tied.
Whitney Calvin started in the net for the Lady Lions and just surrendered the early goal to the Vikings. She made three saves on four shots on goal.
With the draw, Lindenwood moved its record to 8-5-2. The Lady Lions will wrap up their season with a road game against Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo. on Sunday afternoon.
