Lions Dominate From the Opening Tip and Roll to a Win Against Urbana

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team upended Urbana University 86-65 on Wednesday night in Urbana, Ohio. The Blue Knights jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the Lions missed their first three shots, but from that point on Lindenwood dominated.

After trailing, the Lions went on a 20-6 run to push their lead up to nine points. Lindenwood continued to pile up the points and ended the first half with a 26-point advantage.

The second half was much of the same for the Lions. The final half started with Lindenwood scoring the first five points and led by a game-high 31. The Lions lead stayed in the 20s for the rest of the half and Lindenwood rolled to the team's fifth win of the season.

Lindenwood shot 55 percent from the field while the Blue Knights shot just 33 percent. The Lions dominated the boards outrebounding Urbana 40-33.

Kramer Soderberg led the way for the Lions with 18 points and six assists. Tyler Ressel scored a career-high 15 points after a perfect five-for-five night from behind the three-point line.

Alex Bazzell scored in double figures for the sixth time in six games with 13. Cody Sorenson led Lindenwood with eight rebounds.

With the win the Lions improve their record to 5-1. Up next is the Ben Watermen Classic in Wilberforce, Ohio Friday and Saturday.
