Lions Beat Lincoln 86-54

Box Score The Lindenwood Lions beat a future MIAA opponent, the Lincoln Blue Tigers, 86-54 Saturday afternoon in Jefferson City, Mo.

The Lions started the contest off making their first shot, but followed that up by missing on their next three shots, which allowed Lincoln to take an early four-point lead. Fortunately for the Lions, that was the last time they trailed. Lindenwood exploded on a 29-13 run to take a 15-point advantage. The Blue Tigers were able to cut the lead to 11 at the half.

The second half was all Lindenwood. The Lions started the half going on a 24-3 run over the first eight minutes to jump out to a 26-point lead. From that point on Lindenwood cruised to the victory.

The Lions shot 51 percent from the field, while the Blue Tigers shot just 30 percent. For the first time this season, the Lindenwood were outrebounded 39-38. The Lions defense forced the Blue Tigers into 17 turnovers.

Alex Bazzell led the way for Lindenwood with 22 points. Tyler Ressell came off the bench to score 14 and Kramer Soderberg pitched in with 12.

With the win, the Lions improve to 9-1. Up next for Lindenwood is a home game on Monday night against Lindsey Wilson.
