Lions Roll to Ninth Straight Victory

Box Score For the second straight game, the Lindenwood Lions basketball team used a huge first half and rolled to its 12th win of the season. The Lions beat the Menlo Oaks 78-49 at the Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday night.

The first half was all Lindenwood, as the team scored the game's first 12 points to take a 12-0 lead. The rest of the first half was much of the same. The Lions took a 46-24 lead into the locker room after the first 20 minutes. The opening half ended with the Lindenwood shooting 54 percent.

Even though the Lions did not shoot as well the second half, the team still outscored the Oaks 32-25. For the game, Lindenwood shot 45 percent from the field and 30 percent from behind the arc. The Lions dominated Menlo on the boards 56-37.

Efkan Eren led the team in scoring with 18 points and also chipped in six rebounds. Cody Sorenson was second the team in scoring with 12 points. Richie Thompson and Kramer Soderberg each scored 10, while Garett Reeg led the team with nine rebounds.

With the win the Lions have now won nine games in a row and are 12-1. Friday night, Lindenwood will finish out the Las Vegas Invitational with a contest against the Daemen Wildcats at 10:00 p.m. central time.
