Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions were back on the court for the first time in 12 days. The Lady Lions had a tough night shooting the ball and fell to the University of Hawaii at Hilo 56-43 on Thursday night in Hilo, Hawaii.
Both teams started the contest struggling from the field. The opening half saw the Lady Lions shoot 35 percent and Hilo shooting just 28 percent. At the end of the half Lindenwood held a 23-19 advantage.
After the break, Hilo found its stroke and the Lady Lions did not. Hilo shot almost 20 percent better in the final half compared to the Lady Lions, who made just five field goals in 27 attempts. The home team outscored Lindenwood 37-20 in the final 20 minutes and rolled to the 13 point victory.
The Lady Lions turned the ball over 20 times and were outrebounded by a 41-39 margin. The two teams combined to shoot 1-for-22 from behind the three-point line.
Sarah Schnieders led the way for Lindenwood with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Morgan Harrington also scored 11 points and compiled four steals.
The loss drops the Lady Lions to 6-5 on the year. There will be no rest for the team as it will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii to take on the Chaminade Silver Swords Friday night.
