The Lindenwood ice hockey team dominated Slippery Rock 12-1 in the first round of the ACHA National Tournament on Saturday night in Newark, Delaware.
Ten different Lions scored in the victory, including Eric Combs and Alex Roth, who each netted two goals. Steve Balint tallied five assists, helping facilitate the attack for Lindenwood. Other goal scorers for the Lions were Cory Spradling, Colin Long, Mike Sturdevant, Ryan Divito, Grant Gorczyca, Jeremy Meletti, Steve Kowalczyk, and Adam Krefski. Lindenwood scored three goals on the power play and one short-handed.
Robi Cavallari stopped 21 shots between the pipes for the Lions, recording his 24th win of the season.
On Sunday in the quarterfinals, Lindenwood will face Oklahoma, who lost all four games to the Lions during the regular season.
