The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team kept its record perfect after a 2-0 win over the McKendree Bearcats at Hunter Stadium on Tuesday night.
Lindenwood got on the scoreboard for the first time in the 10th minute when Emily Winchell scored after a perfect pass from Courtney Bresnahan. Both teams played very conservative for the rest of the opening half.
It only took the home team eight minutes into the second half to pad the lead. Christine Byrne scored her first goal of the season to give the Lady Lions the 2-0 lead.
McKendree started to pressure the Lindenwood defense but the backline was up for the task. The Bearcats took seven shots in the second half and Lady Lions' goalie Whitney Calvin stopped all of them.
Calvin won her third game in the net and recorded her first shutout of the season.
With the win the Lady Lions improved their record to 3-0. Up next is a home game Friday night against Bethel.
