The Lindenwood women's volleyball team did not fare well on Saturday in Warrensburg, Mo. against one of the top programs in NCAA Division II. The Lady Lions lost to Central Missouri by a 25-15, 25-15, and 25-12 score.
The Jennies took control of the match early on starting with a 9-1 run early in the first set. Central Missouri hit .330 offensively. Defensively, the Jennies had 10 blocks and held Lindenwood to a negative hitting percentage.
Ellen Fandry led the Lady Lions with eight kills,
Kelsey Biggs and
Emma Brydels each had a team-high 11 assists, and
Kaila Schrimpf recorded 11 digs.
Lindenwood falls to 5-5 on the season with the loss, including a 3-1 record against MIAA opponents. The Lady Lions will be on the road on Tuesday evening against Missouri-St. Louis. Lindenwood and Missouri-St. Louis played a five-set match earlier in the year, with the Tritons winning the deciding game by a 15-12 margin.
