The Lindenwood men's tennis team defeated the University of Missouri-St. Louis today by a score of 7-2 on its home court.
Starting off in doubles competition, the men put on a great showing with two of the three teams earning victories. The teams of
Rodrigo Traldi and
Eric Tucoulou as well as
William Hale and Otvaio Costa both defeated their opponents in close competitions winning 8-6. Missouri-St. Louis did take a match defeating
Mario Cal and Gutie Schilling 8-5.
Also competing in singles action, the men were able to hold the Tritons to only one win. Tucoulou beat Nils Mueggenburg 7-5, 7-6 in the No. 1 match, along with Traldi triumphing over Marius Schumacher 6-4, 6-2 in the No 2 match up. Competing in the No. 3 match was Schilling and Tim Gorter where Lindenwood won 1-6, 6-3 and 6-4, while Hale beat Felipe Naranjo 8-5. Other Lions included Costa who fell to Karl Antwi Adjei in an 8-4 battle in the No. 6 match.
The men's team hopes to continue its season as it travel to Missouri Baptist University on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 4 p.m.
