Lions Score an Early Goal and Then Hold on For a 2-1 Win

The Lindenwood Lions men's soccer team scored an early goal and held then held on for the 2-1 over Harding University on Sunday afternoon in Searcy, Ark.

Lindenwood's first goal came just 3:28 into the game after Igancio Pizzaro scored with help Axel Duarte. The Lions took the one goal lead into the halftime break.

It didn't take Lindenwood long in the second half to take the lead. In the 54th Mark Mirth scored to give the visitors a 2-0 lead. The two goal advantage did not last long as Harding scored two minutes later to make the score 2-1.

With a 2-1 lead the Lindenwood defense and goalie Franc Stanza held off Harding for the win.

With the win the Lions move to 3-6 on the season. Up next for is road game against Missouri Valley on Wednesday night.
