Both teams fought to retain the majority of possession in the first half. Rockhurst came close to taking the lead on a couple of chances when its wingers served the ball dangerously into the middle. The Hawks held a 10-2 shot advantage over the home team in the opening half, and also won four corner kicks compared to zero for Lindenwood.
The game got more physical in the second half, with a yellow card eventually given to the Lady Lions. Rockhurst was able to break the scoreless draw with a goal in the 72nd minute by Taylor Skala. With the tough loss, the Lady Lions' record drops to 4-2-2. They will return to action on Saturday when they travel to South Euclid, Ohio to take on Notre Dame College at 5 pm.
