The Lindenwood women's volleyball team had its best offensive showing of the season on Wednesday night during a 3-1 road victory over Illinois-Springfield. The Lady Lions won 25-18, 25-21, 21-25, and 25-14.
Lindenwood got off to a blistering start in the first set when it had 18 kills and no errors in 27 hitting attempts. It also hit well over .350 in the other two sets that it won on the night. The Lady Lions finished with a .331 hitting percentage and 62 kills. Illinois-Springfield had just one less hitting attempt than Lindenwood, but recorded 20 less kills and seven more errors.
The offense was led by
Katie Weber who had 15 kills and two errors in 23 attempts.
Ellen Fandry had 17 kills and
Kelsey Kennedy was in double-figures with 11.
Kelsey Biggs had 28 assists and
Emma Brydels added 20.
Defensively,
Kaila Schrimpf finished with 20 digs and was the only Lindenwood player in double-digits. Weber led the team in blocks as she assisted on five of Lindenwood's seven blocks.
Lindenwood improved to 7-6 with the win. The Lady Lions will host the Lindenwood Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Hyland Arena.
