The Lindenwood Lions men's soccer team fell in its opening game of the 2011 season to Quincy University 3-0 on Saturday night in Quincy, Ill.
Quincy took the lead in the 15th minute of the opening half after Grant Ellison scored the first of his two goals. The contest headed into the half with Quincy holding the 1-0 lead.
In the final half, the home team added two more goals. Nate Heryford scored in the 59th minute and Ellison capped of the scoring in the 76th minute.
D.J. Lambert started in the goal for the Hawks and recorded his first shutout of the season.Hugo Maradieque started in the nets for the Lions and surrendered all three Quincy's goals.
Up next for the Lions is nationally ranked NCAA Division II University of Missouri S&T on Sunday afternoon.
