Lions Beat Mid-Continent to Win 12th Straight Game

Box Score The Lindenwood men's basketball team got 72 points out of its starting lineup and rolled to its 12th straight win on Tuesday night. The Lions beat Mid-Continent 89-75 in Mayfield, Ky.

With the game tied at 11 and just over 10 minutes to play in the opening half, the Lions went on a 10-1 run and never looked back. Lindenwood never gave the lead up and Mid-Continent could only get as close as three points the rest of the way.

The lead grew to as many as 16 points in the final half. But with the Cougars trying to make a charge late in the contest, the Lions closed the contest making 14 free throws in the final three minutes. On the night, Lindenwood was 30-for-38 from the free-throw line.

For the game the Lions shot 42 percent from the field and 53 percent from behind the three-point arc. Lindenwood forced Mid-Continent into 15 turnovers and won the battle of the boards 43-41.

All but one of Lindenwood's starters scored in double figures. Alex Bazzell and Kramer Soderberg led the way with 18 points each. Bazzell also dished out a team-high four assists. Richie Thompson compiled a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Garrett Reeg scored 13 points and Efkan Eren rounded out the starters scoring nine points.

With the win the Lions improve their record to 15-1. Up next for the Lions is the Texas Roadhouse Classic at the Hyland Arena on Friday and Saturday.
