Lions Dominate Central Oklahoma

Box Score The Lindenwood Lions defeated the Central Oklahoma Bronchos 88-58 Thursday night at the Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

Central Oklahoma led for much of the first half, until the seven minute mark when the Lions turned it on. The home team went on a 19-4 run to close the first half, and took a seven point advantage into the locker room.

The second half started just like the first half ended. Lindenwood began the final 20 minutes on a 29-11 run to extend the advantage to 25. From the 7:38 mark of the first half until midway through the second half, the Lions outscored the Bronchos 48-15.

Lindenwood did not sit on the 25-point advantage, it continued to put the pressure on. The defense stepped up and did not allow the visitors a basket for almost five minutes to close out the game.

The contest was filled with fouls and free throws. The two teams combined for 53 fouls and 77 free throws. Lindenwood took control of the game from the line going 43-of-52. The Lions shot 43 percent from the field and 42 percent from behind the arc.

Kramer Soderberg led the way for the Lions scoring 21 points and Alex Bazzell pitched in with 20. Cody Sorensen also scored in double figures with 10 and led the team in rebounds with nine.

With the win, Lindenwood improved its record to 17-2. Up next for the Lions is a home game against Northeastern State on Saturday at the Hyland Arena.
